I’ve tried over and over again to find words to put to Hannah and Dan’s wedding but I’m finding it so hard to describe this day in a way that does it justice. I think this is partly because Hannah and Dan are family and while every wedding I shoot is important to me, this one holds an extra special place in my heart. Hannah’s Mum (my mother in law) passed only three days after the wedding and so the journey our family went on before and after the wedding was not easy. But Hannah and Dan navigated these challenges as the incredible team that they are and despite the circumstances, this day was such a joy to everyone who was there to celebrate. We feel privileged to have been able to document such a beautiful and significant beginning to a marriage and Dan, welcome to the family!
Hannah and Dan had a number of amazing vendors, but I want to acknowledge Amy Bailey Photography in particular for the incredible help she was on the day, tag-teaming with Dave and I to make sure every moment was documented. The ceremony was under the avocado trees at the Gilmour family orchard where Hannah grew up ( Tauranga Christmas Tree Farm). Hannah’s flowers were foraged from around the family orchard and surrounding properties and Carmen from Pretty Wild Floral did an incredible job of bringing the assortment of blooms together. The girls Makeup was done by bridesmaid Stella Fung . The Reception was held at Mills Reef Winery. Hannah’s dress Grace Loves Lace and the boy’s suits by Hallensteins Brothers .
