Arie and Tash rung me 6 weeks ago explaining they had decided to bring their February wedding forward to ASAP! They are also Photographers (check out their work here)with a busy few months ahead and wanted to avoid their own Wedding being overshadowed by the madness of peak Wedding season. As they spend so much of their professional lives at weddings they decided to approach their day differently, choosing to have a small intimate elopement and an informal reception to follow. The date we decided on was only three short weeks away and so the elopement planning began!
Tash is a talented and creative lady (check out her DIY skills here) and a lover of all things bargain. She managed to find her Keepsake the Label dress for $100 online and decided to style her own hair for the day. Despite never having done any sort of flower arranging she created her own bouquet and button holes – with the help of Arie of course.
The elopement location of choice was Raglan where Arie had proposed. Accompanied by their 5 guests they made the trek in Tashās Dadās 1967 Mustang. The ceremony was extremely emotional and as well as making vows to each other they also made vows to their five month old daughter Ruby. We started their photo shoot in pouring rain and crazy wind but after 15 minutes decided to head home and finish the shoot another day! With a quick trip back to their place to feed Ruby and fix the windswept hair Arie and Tash were ready to greet their 60 guests at their Mavis and Co reception.
Arie and Tash, I love your love for Ruby, your passion for your business and your obsession over Kmart and junk food. You are each others biggest advocates and I can’t wait to watch you meet your goals for your already successful business and family life as you work together as a finely tuned team. Dave and I feel soooo privileged to have spent this amazing day with you which felt less like work and more like hanging out with friends. My eyes have never leaked so much during a ceremony and I donāt just think it was because of all that rain! Much love x

But wait theres more!!! As I mentioned earlier our Urban Street shoot was rained out so I took the newlyweds on a date night to a parking garage a few days later and they posed up a storm in front of my lens. Actually there was very little posing and more just me capturing some loved up moments, these two are a photographers dream! You can check out that post here.
