Ruth Gilmour
Engagement, Wedding, Maternity, Newborn & Family Photographer
I know how daunting capturing life’s moments can be.
Whether you feel camera-shy, worry about how you’ll look or are hoping for photos that truly represent you, I get it.
With over 15 years of experience creating genuine, timeless photographs, I bring the energy. Guiding you through a relaxing and enjoyable photoshoot to ensure your story is told in every image.
I embarked on my journey as a photographer fueled by a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for the beauty in life’s simplest moments.
Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of people, capturing the important events in their lives—their wedding days, baby bumps, and family celebrations.
My expertise in photography is not just in the technical side of handling the camera but in the art of understanding people. With qualifications in photography and visual arts, I blend technical skills with an artistic touch.
Every shoot is a new canvas; my clients are the heart of the composition. The countless smiling faces and heartfelt thank-yous I’ve received are testaments to my client’s trust and satisfaction.
Building relationships is at the core of my work.
I believe in getting to know each client, understanding how they want to capture their memories, and easing their fears.
This personal approach transforms a simple photo session into an experience of shared creativity and empathy.
Your story takes centre stage. I strive to create photographs that stand the test of time, transcending fleeting trends to become timeless treasures.
My mission is to capture your life’s precious moments in a way that is not only visually stunning but also resonate emotionally.
With photographs that stand the style test of time. Trends come and go, but I make sure you’ve got timeless photographs that look stunning whether you show them off five weeks or five decades after they’ve been taken.
Whether it’s seeing everyone together celebrating your wedding day, capturing that time the whole family got together or the fleeting memories of childhood, each photograph is a milestone to remember on your journey.
I have an Honors Bachelor of Communications majoring in Photography and Design and a post-grad in teaching.
My experience as a Photography High School teacher has benefitted what I do now. Learning to be organised, listen carefully, and communicate clearly are all skills I use daily as a photographer.
It has given me confidence in planning, public speaking, directing, and, dare I say, being bossy during a shoot when needed.
